The electronic certificate of incapacity for work (eAU): What you need to know

The eAU replaces the old paper sick note. As a statutorily insured person, you no longer need to upload any document. Your doctor's office sends the sick report digitally to your health insurance provider, and we retrieve it directly from them.

Who needs to do what?

Statutorily insured: No upload required in the app! Enter the period in the app and confirm the eAU retrieval.

  • Your ToDo: Go to the doctor as usual. Make sure your doctor's office transmits the eAU digitally to your health insurance provider.

  • Important exception (e.g., TeleClinic or medical practice system errors): If your doctor's office cannot transmit the data digitally to the health insurance provider, or if the eAU is rejected, the practice will issue you a paper certificate for your health insurance company. In this case, it is your responsibility to submit this paper proof directly to your health insurance provider immediately (e.g., via the insurance company's app or photo upload). Once your health insurance provider has processed the data, we can retrieve the eAU electronically.

Privately insured: Continue uploading paper proof in the app! Privately insured individuals do not participate in the eAU process.

  • Your ToDo: Upload your doctor's certificate (AUB) directly in the jobvalley app. You do not need to send the document to a statutory health insurance provider—simply submit it exclusively in our app.
